Four Panthers to State

Saratoga will take four of six wrestlers to Casper over the weekend

Out of the six Saratoga Panther wrestlers that attended the regional tournament over this past weekend, four will be advancing to the State Championship in Casper. While the Saratoga grapplers have a small showing, they are spread out over different weight classes.

In the 106 weight class, while Cale Mowry did not bring in any points for the Panthers at the regional tournament, he did place 5th. He will start off the State Championship by facing Colton Coffman of Niobrara High School.

In the 113 weight class, Jerry Everett placed 7th. As he advances to the State Championship, he will begin the weekend by facing Nicky Knigge of Shoshoni.

Justin Shotwell placed 2nd in the 120 weight class and grabbed 22 team points for the Panthers. His weekend will start off by facing Big Piney’s Mason Schell.

In the 182 weight class, Encampment’s lone grappler Ben Wagy placed 8th. Wagy will be facing Rowdy Pfeil of Moorcroft to start out the State Championship.

The State Wrestling Championship will begin on February 28 at the Casper Events Center in Casper.
