Senior Kaylyn Hunter places 6th in POI at Top Gun tournament in Gillette
Over the weekend, the Saratoga Speech and Debate team were in Gillette as they competed in the Thunder Basin Top Gun Tournament. Of the four member team, one made it into the semifinal round and another made it to the finals.
“This tournament provided us the opportunity to compete against students and pieces that we normally would not see until the State tournament,” said Sheryl Hunter, head coach. “Overall, I am very proud of how our students did, having several pieces barely missing the advancement into semifinals.”
Kaitlyn Campbell was one competitor who did make it into the semifinal round, doing so in extemporaneous speaking. Additionally, Kaylyn Hunter advanced into the finals in Program Oral Interpretation and placed 6th.
The next meet for the Saratoga Speech and Debate team will be on February 28 and 29 in Riverton.
