Serving the Platte Valley since 1888
Carrie Ann Craig, born June 25th, 1956, passed away on January 12th, 2020. Carrie graduated from Platte Valley High School in 1974. She worked for Carbon County School District #2 for 40, YES 40, years. Carrie was an active member of the American Legion and held several offices for many years. She was a volunteer for different community organizations including the Fishing Derby, the Chariot Races and a Young Authors judge. Carrie was known for her sharp wit, sense of humor, generosity and kindness. She is loved by more people than we could ever list. Carrie loved her granddaughters more than her luggage. Carrie was an avid reader and shared her love for books with her treasured co-worker Deb Riker. She was a rock enthusiast and sported stones from all over the world, thanks to her many friends. She was a bone collector, a photographer, and she lived, loved, and breathed all things RIVER.
Carrie will be sadly missed by her daughters, Sarah Callison of Gold Hill, Oregon and KatiRose Callison of Seattle, Washington; her grandchildren, Shelby Young of Nampa, Idaho, and Hazen Yamakawa of Seattle, Washington; her mother, Iva Craig of Saratoga, Wyoming; her sisters, Connie (John) Powell and Cathy (Tom) Westring of Saratoga, Wyoming; her brothers, Bill Craig of Encampment, Wyoming and Bob (Tammy) Craig of Green River, Wyoming; her friends James & Michelle, Chris & Bear, Wendell, Jackson, countless other friends in the Valley & beyond and, of course, the rest of her large and amazing family.
She was preceded in death by her father, Jack Craig; sister, Cindy Craig; grandparents, nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at a later date this summer. Donations can be made at the Carrie Craig Memorial Fund at RNB State Bank.
