Rec. center closes for Christmas

Old Man winter played Grinch to the Hanna Recreation Center on night of Dec. 16. The heat went out and Carbon County cold caused pipes to burst in the kitchen area and ceiling area near the front desk.

Staff going to work that morning on Dec.17 discovered flooding throughout those areas. There was no quick fix and the center had to shut down.

The management said the Hanna Recreation Center will be closed until further notice due to maintenance issues. All activities for the month of Dec. are canceled. The center will keep the town posted of a re-opening date as soon as the situation is resolve...
