Experience and drive

Nearly undefeated Miner footballers look forward to another great season

The Hanna, Elk Mountain, Medicine Bow (HEM) head football coach Zach Scott said he has 16 great kids on his team.

Scott knows that since the Miner football team went undefeated until the championship, many teams will be gunning to beat his team.

"Our goal is to have another great season," Scott said. "We are going to take care of what we have to take care of."

Scott said the goal of the team is to improve every game.

In practice he has been impressed with Jace Smith, Joseph Borah and Devon Grosstick.

"I have seen huge improvement already," Scott said. "And our seniors Brendon Reeves, Shane and Conor McGraw who have tremendous leadership abilities, it is going to be amazing."

Another player Scott pointed out to watch this year was Zander Claice.

"This is his game," Scott said. "He just didn't know it was his game until now.

Scott said the team is ready to face their first opponent, St. Stephens.

"We have a lot of talent. experience and are driven," Scott said. "Last year didn't end the way we wanted it to, and we want to fix that."
