Gossip, no. Meetings, yes

Editor,

I went to the Town Council meeting at the Community Center last week. I am appalled and frightened with the division in our community over the Clinic. If you are a pot stirrer please sign your name to your verbiage and argue with whoever in private. Many people in our valley do not read the paper or listen to the radio—they listen to the inconsistent and sometimes untruthful and sometimes ignorant Facebook or web pages. Find out all sides—talk to the people involved—before stirring the pot and spreading gossip. We need our clinic, our nursing home and our pharmacy...PERIOD.

What happened with Dr. Kaiser—who knows? He wasn’t given much time to turn a profit and pay rent. Let’s give Karl Rudd and the committee a chance—it’s only been since last October! Let’s be grateful for the nursing home—a good doctor there and our clinic—our 2 nurse practitioners are awesome and professional and tired. We need more people to work or volunteer on the ambulances. Needs to be a schedule so two are always on. Can they be paid? Let’s find out how we can help with getting our healthcare problems solved—not dividing and destroying.

There is a meeting on Wednesday with the committee at the community center. Not sure of the time.

Attend.

President Lincoln said way back when: United We Stand; Divided We Fall.

History repeats itself.

I want to applaud the parents who got up and are doing T-Ball-Baseball and I see soccer going too. Good for you. If you want your kids to do it, you have to volunteer. I liked the meeting last week—91 people and I think it cleared the air.

Attend meetings that affect you—you can’t complain; do something about it.

Also, BRAVO to our firefighters. Do you remember last year when the mill burned? These intrepid young people are volunteering their time to protect us. Support them.

Also, there were not many people at the Cancer Walk on Saturday, but they still collected $27,000 for cancer victims that need help in our valley. Look for the good in this Valley--it is all over the place!
