Guns to Roses

Exhibitors can now sign up for new home, garden and outdoor show dubbed ‘A Spring Thing: From Guns to Roses’

Area businesses, organizations and individuals are invited to reserve space in the new spring home, garden and outdoor show planned for May 4 at the Platte Valley Community Center (PVCC).

The event, “A Spring Thing: From Guns to Roses,” is sponsored by the Valley Service Organization (VSO) and PVCC with support from Bridge Street Bargains.

The show will allow exhibitors to showcase products and services used in spring and summer activities in the valley and provide information on seasonal recreation and special events.

In addition, several workshops are scheduled on various topics related to the theme. Booth exhibitors may sell items or just provide information on spring and summer hobbies and activities. If on-scene sales are involved there is a $20 fee to help defray event expenses. Otherwise booths and admission are both free. Workshop leaders get free exhibit space. The event will run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, May 4.

Kate Sherrod, Spring Thing committee member, said the event will have some special activities for children, including an introduction to fly-casting, a kite building workshop and safety program, and a program on planting and nurturing seedlings.

She also said that three local food trucks have signed up for the event.

To sign up as an exhibitor or to get more information, contact Joe Elder at the Platte Valley Community Center office, or call him at 307-326-7822.
