Repowering Foote

PacifiCorp, a regulated utility who serves 1.9 million customers in six western states, has applied for approval to repower the existing Foote Creek Rim 1 Wind Project located near Arlington, Wyo. Repowering will primarily involve removing the existing 68 turbines and replacing them with 12 new turbines. Although the activities involved are typical for wind energy project maintenance, residents may notice increased vehicle traffic during the construction period.

The project is expected to bring more than $14 million dollars in added tax revenue to the area.

The public is invited to an upcoming Community Event/Open House where project representatives will be on hand to provide more detailed information and respond to questions. The open house will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 27 in the Elk Mountain Senior Center at 208 Bridge St. in Elk Mountain.

Non-alcoholic beverages and light food will be provided.
