Spoiled moose found near Jack Creek, Game and Fish seek leads
According to a recent press release from the Wyoming Game and Fish Department (WGFD), the body of a cow moose was recently discovered around Jack Creek on Oct. 26. By the time the body was discovered by Laramie/Glendo WGFD Game Warden Becca Lutz, however, the meat had spoiled and was unable to be donated.
“We realize people make mistakes and I would rather receive a call about a mistake and have been able to donate the meat to a less fortunate family than to see the meat abandoned and spoiled,” said Lutz. “It was a waste of an entire moose.”
The WGFD is encouraging anyone who may have information regarding this case to call the Stop Poaching Tip Line at 1-877-WFGD-TIP (1-877-943-3847) or 307-777-4330. Tips can also be made by texting keyword “WGFD” and message to 847-411.
