Clinic busy in first week

Takes 313 no-charge record requests, sees 55 patients, gives flu shots

The temporary clinic at the PVCC has been seeing patients and taking record requests for a week now.

During their first week in operation, the clinic has taken 313 requests to have medical records transferred to the new management free of charge. The clinic has also seen 55 patients over the opening week including giving flu shots.

According to HMS representative Mark Pesognelli, "We have already spent over $12,000 to equip the community center with the needed supplies and equipment to be able to provide service in order to insure Valley residents are with medical care during this period of transition."

Pesognelli went on to describe the clinic staff saying, "Our new clinic is currently being staffed by one Family Nurse Practitioner (Susan Foley), one Registered Nurse (Mandy Cooper) and one Licensed Practical Nurse (Lisa Bifano)."

Heidi Sifford is currently taking record requests and performing administrative duties. Pesognelli also added that the search for a new doctor is ongoing.

Of the new clinic's operation Pesognelli said, "I have personally had several residents come to me and express their thanks for stepping up in this time of need," adding that the clinic staff has also received these compliments. Pesognelli went on to say, "There has been a substantial outpouring of support in the community."

HMS and the Town of Saratoga representatives met at the Corbett Medical Clinic building last Thursday to do an equipment inventory and to check what supplies would be needed for HMS' eventual takeover of that facility.

HMS is set to take over the Corbett Medical Clinic as soon as the current lease is officially at an end.
