The ideal doctor

Dear Editor,

“The ideal is full time doc (doctor), that’s the ideal” said Rude, Director of Health Management Services (HMS). Sooo if that is the ideal, why would Saratoga want to hire HMS to provide less than the ideal when Saratoga CURRENTLY HAS THE IDEAL DOCTOR.

So what will you get from HMS? Rude said, “If a provider, doctor provider, is available to cover the time and if the patient load can justify the expense of a doctor to cover the time and we can break even and make profit, then I’m absolutely good with that.” A possible translation of the above statement is that Saratoga will get a Physician’s Assistant (PA) that will be available to cover the decreased patient load after the Rawlins citizens cease to come. If HMS does not get its cut (profit) and pay the bills, it will shut down the medical clinic and leave Saratoga with an empty building.

My wife and I STRONGLY SUPPORT DR. KAISER. We are Senior Citizens and I have a medical condition that needs regular monitoring. We were very sad at losing Dr. Bartholomew and were not looking forward to finding a doctor that we could trust. As you might know, Rawlins has had problems finding good doctors. We were pleased to find that Dr. Kaiser is an excellent doctor. We have been willing to travel one-and-a-half hours round trip through all kinds of weather to get to an excellent doctor. Saratoga is fortunate to have a doctor of his caliber. In addition to excellent doctoring, we enjoy a good meal in Saratoga. We would be sad if Dr. Kaiser was no longer in Saratoga. In a world in which country doctors are hard to find, it would seem insane not to renew Dr. Kaiser’s lease on the Medical Clinic. We urge you and the city council to resolve whatever problems that are perceived and retain Dr. Kaiser’s services. Doctors like Dr. Kaiser are hard to find and retain.

To good health and good doctoring.

Randy and Vicky Baunach

Rawlins
