Clothing designer Morrow wins Business of the Year at Women of Influence dinner in Cheyenne

Now that the "Susan Lucci curse" has been broken, Laura Morrow can add yet another award to her collection following the Women of Influence awards on Aug. 16. Morrow had already been awarded the Carbon County Board of Realtors Businessperson of the Year, but was also nominated for both the Lifetime Achievement Award by Cindy Loose and the Business of the Year by Elizabeth Wood. On Thursday, Morrow received the award for Business of the Year during the Women of Influence dinner at Little America in Cheyenne.

The Saratoga business owner was not alone, however, as she was joined by Loose, Ruth Nottage and Chia Valdez-Schwartz at the dinner.

"I was overtaken by emotion as I saw I was one of the three finalists," said Morrow. "I had three fabulous friends by my side. As we all held our breath, they announced the winner. I teared up with joy and was overcome with emotions."

According to Morrow, she is still walking on clouds after receiving the award, but has several new projects she will begin working on.

"There are so many people to thank over the past 42 years doing business in Wyoming and 21 years here in Saratoga," Morrow said. "I thank each and every one for believing in me and supporting me."
