Thomas "Thom" Gamblin is currently employed by the Rawlins Police Department (RPD) and has been for the past 13 years, but decided to run for Carbon County Sheriff this year.
"I decided to run for sheriff of Carbon County to make sure our county remains a safe place for the children of our community to grow up in," said Gamblin.
Along with having worked for the RPD since 2005, Gamblin also has several years of law enforcement experience with three other departments in his home state.
"I have worn the badge of law enforcement for many years and I stand by what it represents," Gamblin said. "Integrity, service and dedication. Through the years I've seen a need for a sheriff who will meet the needs of a growing county. Service to the county needs to be addressed and I have the right ideas to move Carbon County forward."
In addition to his experience in law enforcement, Gamblin points to having run his own business as well as being a leader to his family, church and the men he works with as qualifications for the position.
"I have worked at many different levels in law enforcement and want to take my experiences to lead the sheriff's department here in my county and improve on the former leaders work," said Gamblin.
As for the people of Carbon County, Gamblin plans to add more law enforcement to increase response times within the municipalities and to update the technology in both the jail and the patrol division.
"I do not plan to table great ideas that will help the officers who work hard to make Carbon County the best in Wyoming," Gamblin said.
