Saratoga Track qualifies two for State meet roster at Natrona Invite
The Saratoga track team left the Panther Den this weekend to compete in the Natrona Invite in Casper. At the end of the meet, one Panther and one Lady Panther would qualify for State in two events.
Lady Panthers
Mychaela Jackman placed 8th in the 300 meter hurdles with a time of 54.08 seconds.
Taylor Bennett placed 8th in the long jump with a distance of 14 feet and 9 inches and 3rd in the triple jump with a distance of 31 feet and 9.25 inches. Bennett’s distances in both events qualified her for State.
Savannah Wells placed 6th in the 100 meter hurdles with a time of 18.58 seconds.
Madison Roman threw a distance of 63 feet and 9 inches in discus, surpassing her previous distance of 56 feet and 10.5 inches from the previous week.
Panthers
Sam Schneider placed 3rd in the triple jump with a distance of 41 feet and 4 inches and placed 2nd in the high jump with a height of 6 feet and 2 inches. Schneider has qualified for State in both events.
Menphis Smith surpassed his time in the 100 meter dash from the week before, finishing with 14.83 seconds.
Jerry Everett completed the 800 meter run in 2 minutes 32.23 seconds, beating his time of 2 minutes and 55.11 seconds at the Wind River Invitational.
Preston Dew placed 6th in shot put with a distance of 36 feet and 11 inches. Dew also threw a distance of 97 feet and 11 inches in discus, just over 16 feet further than the distance thrown at the Wind River Invitational the week before.
Joey Gonzales placed 8th in the 3200 meter run with a time of 12 minutes and 19.17 seconds.
The next track meet for the Saratoga Panthers will be 10 a.m. on March 31 at the Wheatland Invite in Wheatland.
