Rebecca Kerbs

Rebecca (Becky) Kerbs, 63, passed away March 18, 2018 in her home on the family ranch in Saratoga, Wyoming.

Becky was born December 1, 1954 in Las Cruces, New Mexico to Steve and Miriam Ducsai. She was the youngest of three sisters, and the family lived in several places across the country before settling outside of Denver, Colorado where she grew up, fell in love with horses, and became involved in the precision mounted drill team, the Westernaires. With that group, she was able to travel and perform at rodeos around the US and Canada ranging from the Carbon County Fair and Cheyenne Frontier Days, to the Calgary Stampede. Becky attended Colorado State University and studied English.

She eventually found her way to Saratoga where she met her husband, Kip and began life on his family's ranch. They were married in April of 1987 and along came Kaylee in 1989 and Corson in 1993. Becky's love for horses and competition continued when she teamed up with Joe Glode to train and run his chariot team. As the kids got older, they became more and more involved in the ranch life, 4-H, and FFA. Caring for animals was Becky's passion. She worked tirelessly raising sheep and cattle for Kaylee and Corson, as well as kids from around the state to show. Summers were spent working on the ranch during the week and hauling to jackpot shows around the state on weekends, and capped off with two weeks of County and State Fairs. She was everyone's Fair Mom, and always there to help get kids and animals ready to go in the ring, to help calm nerves, and make everyone have a good time.

Anyone who knew Becky knew she was the strongest, most determined person in the world. She overcame so many challenges, never let anything slow her down, and never asked for help. She knew and loved everyone in this valley ... trips to town were something she looked forward to, just to check in on all of her friends.

Becky is survived by her husband Kip, children Kaylee and Corson, sister Lynn Howe of Parker, Colorado, and a huge, loving family that reaches from coast to coast. She was preceded in death by her wonderful parents, and sweet sister Christine Ducsai of Tucson, Arizona.

Donations can be made to the Carbon County 4-H Foundation in memory of Becky and sent to: 814 Illinois St, Rawlins WY 82301.
