Med Bow town council hears about landfill closure grant, considers volleyball team, puts money into savings, approves purchase of community hall sound system

The Medicine Bow town council met at 6 p.m. on Feb. 12. Toby Smith, council member board member of High Country Joint Powers Board (HCJPB), told the council that a grant had been applied for from State Loan and Investment Board (SLIB) to help with the closure of the Hanna Landfill.

Routine business of approving the minutes and paying the financials preceded Karen Heath, town clerk and treasurer, who asked the council, on behalf of resident Kristi Brennan, if the Fire Department would consider forming a sand volleyball team consisting of three people and perhaps some alternates to compete with...
