The Saratoga Town Council met for its second meeting of December, and last of 2017, Tuesday at Saratoga Town Hall.
The previous town council meeting had essentially been scrubbed due to a lack of attendance by council members during the busy buildup to the holidays. The second meeting of the month had the town going over routine business missed at the previous meeting, and taking up the issue of another potential expenditure for the town.
During the meeting, public works director Jon Winter told council members that the town’s jetter—a piece of equipment used for flushing out clogged utility pipes—had broken down, leaving the town with several options to replace the nearly 30-year-old equipment.
After discussing various options, including repairing the existing jetter or purchasing a new one, council members voted to solicit bids for a replacement machine.
Because of the expense of the jetter, the town will post advertising soliciting bids from interested suppliers. Suppliers who wish to submit bids to replace the town’s jetter are required to send sealed bids to the town office no later than 1 p.m. Jan. 5 2018.
It is anticipated that the town council will open and review bids for the jetter at the next town council meeting which will be held 6 p.m. Jan 5, 2018 at Saratoga Town Hall.
