Miners football hands Wolves 84-19 loss
Hanna, Elk Mountain, Medicine Bow (HEM) High School Miners football team went to Sheridan and handed the Normative Services High School Wolves a loss. All cylinders were firing for the Miners with outstanding plays by the entire team.
The Miners beat the Wolves by a score of 84-19.
“Tylor had two amazing interceptions and three touchdown passes,” Miners football coach Zack Scott said.
Scott was talking about Tylor Goodro who passed for 109.7 yards and got 42 yards on his interceptions. Goodro with his three touchdown passes was not the only player with a good day passing.
Shane McGraw passed for 156.3 yards and two touchdown passes. He led the team with 175 all purpose yards and his brother Conor was second in all purpose yards at 172. Conor scored three touchdowns for 18 points as did his brother who had a total of 26 points with his 8 points gleaned in conversions.
Scott was pleased with his receivers Devon Grosstick and Brendon Reeves. He was also excited about Basil Phillips’ game.
“Devon and Brendon had two touchdowns and Basil scored his first high school touchdown,” Scott said. The coach noted in past games Phillips game had constantly been getting better.
The Miners entire team playing well, never let the Wolves get into the game.
Defensively, the Miners had every player get at least five total tackles with Conor McGraw leading with 15, his brother Shane making 14 and Jon Nelsen getting 10.
Alex Claice, Robert Marta, Josh Lee and Andrew Scott all had rushing yards that contributed to the win.
“The team played very well and everyone had quality time on the field.” Scott said.
The 4-2 Miners next game will be noon at home on Oct. 21 taking on the 5-1 Midwest Oilers.
