The Saratoga Middle/High School (SMHS) cross country team participated in the Rawlins Invite this weekend. The invite, the second of the year for the team, was held at Sinclair Golf Course.
High school varsity boys competed in the 5K at the event, and Jarom Herring placed 18th with a time of 19:46.64. Also placing for Saratoga in the 5K was Gage Bartlett, who did the run in 21:48.84.
Junior Varsity boys also ran the 5K, with Saratoga athletes taking third and fourth places in the event. Joey Gonzales took third with a time of 20:07.72, followed by Gavin Bartlett, who earned fourth with his time of 20:18.97.
The Junior High runners put Saratoga on the map with first, second and 15th place finishes from the young Panthers. Grant Bartlett took first with a 9:24.05 running of the 3K run, followed by Grady Bartlett who finished in 9:25.43.
Rounding out the efforts of Saratoga’s fleet-footed youths, middle school girl Makenna King placed 18th in the 3K run. King finished up with a time of 11:49.23.
The next outing for the SMHS cross country team is the Liberty Bell Invite in Littleton, Colorado, on Friday.
