The Town of Saratoga signed a Master Service Agreement with a Saratoga-based engineering firm at its last town council meeting August 1.
The master service agreement between the Town of Saratoga and North Fork Engineering, also of Saratoga, was approved by the town council after legal review by the town’s attorney.
A master service agreement is not a contract to perform work for the town, Mayor Ed Glode explained at the previous town council meeting held July 18. Instead, the document is intended to make things easier between the town and the engineering firm should the town hire the firm to perform work.
The master service agreement between the town and the firm sets basic terms and agreements between the town and the firm, which should allow for an easier working relationship in the event North Fork is hired to perform jobs for the town, Glode explained at the July 18 meeting.
At the July 18 meeting, members of the council elected to have the master service agreement reviewed by the town’s legal counsel before voting on whether to approve it or not.
After legal review, the council voted to allow the mayor to sign the agreement in a unanimous vote Tuesday.
The town also has a master service agreement in place with Engineering Associates, another engineering firm which has performed work for the town in the past.
