Copper Days set to feature Ag-related toys and dioramas
The Platte Valley Arts Council will be holding the first annual Toy Tractor Display Show and Competition as part of Encampment’s Copper Days Festival. The show will be held in the livery stable of the Grand Encampment Museum from 2 -5 p.m., September 9. There is no cost to see the toy displays or to enter the competition.
Winners will be announced during the Community Dance at 6 p.m.
The purpose of this event is not only to provide friendly competition, but also to provide toy collectors and enthusiasts the ability to creatively recreate farm, ranch and ag-related toys and scenes and to show off collections. A spirit of fun, education, fellowship and friendly competition is encouraged.
Similar to a toy train display, toy tractor displays are realistic dioramas featuring farm and ranch life complete with tractors, barns, livestock and fields. Smaller scale displays show incredible detail and often evoke memories and stories. Collections may also be entered—grouped by brand, scale, age, or personal favorites.
Displays and collections will be judged on construction, conformity, finish, detail and presentation and overall effect.
There are two divisions: Adult and Youth (ages 14 and under).
Entrants can enter in three subdivisions: Models (scratch built or customized), Displays, or Collections.
Various scales will be separated into classes.

Everyone is invited to the other family-friendly events during the Copper Days Festival such as tractor pulls and a kid’s art workshop!
