WHATFest brings the bands

WHATFest, an annual music festival featuring dozens of bands over the course of a weekend, will return to Riverside Friday and Saturday.

The event will be hosted at the Bear Trap Café & Bar at 120 Riverside Avenue in Riverside. According to the festival organizer’s website, 33 bands are expected to play over the course of the weekend.

Jolene Pavelka, Bear Trap owner, said this year four food vendors are expected to sell at this year’s festival, including taco, burger and barbecue vendors. There will also be a breakfast chow line 8-10:30 a.m. Sunday.

According to Jan Cook, clerk of the town of Riverside, visitors should be aware that there is no camping in the park and no sleeping in cars for the event. There will also be no parking on the west side of First Street to ensure emergency vehicles will have access should the need arise.

Pavelka said there will be a shuttle running from the Riverside-Encampment Rodeo Grounds to the bar during the event.

The cost to attend the concert is $10 for Friday and $15 for Saturday. Weekend passes, good for both days, are available for $20.
