Hanna–Elk Mountain–Medicine Bow (HEM) High School track had some great results in the Green River Invitational April 21.
Jarrett Neimark won the triple jump for the second time at an invitational with a mark of 42’-05.50” and Shane McGraw came in ninth with 38’-03.50”.
“We did have a very successful meet with athletes qualifying for state in five additional events,” said HEM track coach Jackie Jones. “Times are coming down, and distances are increasing for nearly every member of the HEM track team.”
Neimark placed eighth in long jump with 18’-08.00” and teammate Brandon Scott recorded a jump of 16’-02.00”.
For the girls in long jump, Cheyenne Tomkins hit 14’-05” placing ninth, Cloe Olson got 13’-01.75” and Jessica Nelsen 12’-08”.
Shane McGraw edged out his brother Conor McGraw for sixth place in discus with a throw of 119’-01”. while Conor had a throw of 119’ for seventh. Tyler Goodro threw 107’-02” and Brandon Scott got 90’-04”.
Conor McGraw did well in the 110 meters hurdles placing second at 16.46 and 45.77 in the 300 meters hurdle.
Girls team in shot put had Tomkins throw a score of 30’-11.50”, Cheyenne Hunter hit 30’-07.50” and MacKenzie Finn marked 26’-11.50”.
In the 100 meters Conor McGraw came in fifth at 11.76, Neimark placed 10th at 11.90 and Goodro came with a time of 13.55.
Conor McGraw got fourth in the 200 meters with 23.73. Scott came in at 25.45.
For the girls team, Tomkins placed seventh in the 400 meters at 1:09.59 and Nelsen ran 1:13.77, while the boys team had Neimark run 58.07.
In the 800 meter race, the boy team had Shane McGraw come in fifth at 2:06.73 and Kyle Solaas ran 2:37.65. In the 1600 meters, Solaas ran 5:57.79
Coach Jones concluded “I think we had a great day at a tough meet.”
