Festivities and observances are planned around the county for the upcoming Holy Week. Easter egg hunts are on tap for towns and organizations while special services are planned at community houses of worship.
SARATOGA
Abundant Life Church invites everyone to attend their Easter services at 6 p.m. Sunday at 108 West Spring Street.
The First Baptist Church at 802 West Main Street will hold their Easter service at 11 a.m. Sunday.
The First Presbyterian Church will hold a Maundy Thursday service with communion 7 p.m. Thursday April 13. The church then celebrates the resurrection of our Lord during their Easter service at 9:30 a.m. Sunday. The church is at Third and Bridge Street.
The Platte Valley Christian Center will start Easter day with a breakfast at 9 a.m. and follow with Sunday school and worship at 11 a.m. That evening, the center will hold an Easter service at 6 p.m.
The Platte Valley Lutheran Church will be holding a Maundy Thursday service 7 p.m. Thursday, April 14 at the church at 514 South First Street.
The church will also be holding a special Good Friday Tenebrae service Friday, April 15 at 7 p.m.
Easter Day service will be held at 9 a.m. Sunday with an Easter Brunch/Easter Egg Hunt to follow.
Saint Ann's Catholic Church, at 211 West Spring Street, will have a washing of the feet Thursday at 5:30. The church will also be celebrating Good Friday with a veneration of the cross at 5 p.m. on Friday, April 14. Easter Sunday Mass will be given at 9 a.m.
Saint Barnabas Episcopal Church, at 106 West Main, is planning several events for the Easter weekend. Thursday, April 13 the church will observe Maundy Thursday with a foot washing at 6:30 p.m.
At noon on Friday, April 14 St. Barnabas will host the ministerial association and invites everyone to a non-denominational celebration of Good Friday.
Sunday St. Barnabas will hold their Easter service at 9 a.m.
The Saratoga Alliance Church invites everyone to an Easter celebration titled "O Glorious Day" to be held at the Platte Valley Community Center on Sunday.
The proceedings begin with refreshments at 9 a.m. and continue with a celebration at 10 a.m. The community center is located at 210 East Elm Street.
The Saratoga Care Center invites kids to stop by Saturday at 10 a.m. for an Easter egg hunt. The center is located at 207 East Holly Street.
The Saratoga Hot Springs Spa will be open to kids who want to hunt for Easter eggs 10 a.m. Saturday. The resort is located at 601 East Pic Pike Road.
The Saratoga Senior Center at 214 Constitution Avenue will be having an Easter egg hunt for the seniors on Thursday, April 13 at 11:30.
Ride on Faith Ministries will be celebrating Easter with a Potluck Brunch/Easter Service starting at 10 a.m. at their place of worship 7 miles south of Saratoga.
ENCAMPMENT/
RIVERSIDE
The Encampment Presbyterian Church at 918 Rankin Street will hold a community Maundy Thursday service which will follow a soup and bread supper Thursday, April 13 at 6 p.m. Sunday retired pastor Bob Gerard from Cheyenne will deliver the Easter service at 10 a.m.
The Encampment/Riverside Volunteer Fire Department will be holding an Easter egg hunt at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 15 at Rick Martin Park in Riverside.
The Foothills Baptist Church will be holding their Easter service at 10 a.m. Sunday next to the Encampment High School at 510 Freeman Street.
St. James Episcopal Church on McCaffrey Street will be holding their Easter service at 9 a.m.
The Christian Community Church will be holding an Easter sunrise service at 6:15 a.m. at Grandview Park at Sixth and Barnett. Following that, breakfast will be held at the church at 3512 Hwy 230.
Then a regular Easter morning service will be held in the church at 10 a.m.
No Sunday school or evening services will be held that day.
HANNA
The First Baptist Church at 300 Adams Street will be holding their Easter service at 11 a.m. Sunday.
Hanna Hills Church will be holding their Easter service at 6 p.m. at their church 205 Main Street.
The Hanna Recreation Center at 8000 East Highway 72 will be holding an Easter egg hunt sponsored by the Hanna chapter of the Girls Scouts of America 10 a.m. Saturday.
Saint Joseph Catholic Church will be holding their Easter Mass at 11:30 a.m. Sunday at 3 Heather Drive.
MEDICINE BOW
The Medicine Bow Lions Club will be sponsoring an Easter egg hunt 11 a.m. Saturday at the Cottonwood Street Park.
