Schneider gets early state berth for long jump at Legler Invite
Saratoga High School’s track team hit the field for the first time this season at the Glen Legler Invite in Casper Saturday. The boys’ team finished the event in 16th place, with the girls’ team not far behind, placing 19th.
For the boys’ team, Sam Schneider’s fourth-place finish in the triple jump at 40’ 11.75” was good enough to earn the trackster a place at state this season. On the girls’ side, Taylor Bennett’s 13th place long jump performance of 14’ 11.75” was also enough for her to earn a qualified spot at state finals.
The boys also took home a seventh place finish in the 4x800-meter relay, and a ninth place finish in the 4x400-meter relay.
The team’s next outing will be back in Casper Friday for the Natrona Invite.
