The Carbon County School District No. 2 speech and debate team will celebrate its participants and the close of the speech season 6 p.m. Tuesday, March 28 in the Great Hall of the Platte Valley Community Center.
The event is open to the public, and will feature a taco bar prepared by members of the Saratoga Booster Club along with carry-in items brought by team members and their families.
After the tacos are done, students will perform their competition pieces from this season and coaches Jake Mickelsen and Kate Sherrod will hand out team awards.
"We had a challenging season but Jake and I are both extremely proud of these kids," Sherrod said. "Everybody grew as competitors and performers, and we have built something very special.
