Sheriff’s Office warns of counterfeit, gives serial numbers to watch out for
The Carbon County Sheriff’s Office has received two reports of counterfeit bills being distributed across Carbon County in the last two weeks.
The first report, received in December, consisted of a $50 counterfeit bill. The second report, in January, consisted of a counterfeit $50 and two counterfeit $100 bills.
The two $50 bills have matching serial number of MD34242368A and the two $100 bills have a matching serial number of D60468162A.
The counterfeit bills have been seized and forwarded to the Secret Service for further investigation.
The Carbon County Sheriff’s Office encourages business to take note of those serial numbers when handling money and asks anyone with information regarding these counterfeit bills to call the Sheriff’s Office at 307-324-2776.
