After the Saratoga Museum’s season ended in October, the docents got a behind-the-scenes tour at South Pass City. The tour was led by Jon Lane, Curator for Public Programs, for the state of Wyoming Department of State Parks & Cultural Resources.
The group met with Lane at 9 a.m. and toured the Carrisa Mine. After eating lunch in Atlantic City, the group returned to tour historic South Pass City, learning about the resurrection of the town and how the Wyoming Department of State Parks and Cultural Resources became involved.
For several members of the group, it was their first visit to South Pass City, for others, it was a return trip from several years past.
