Enc. School practices emergency Monday

An emergency drill will be held at Encampment K-12 school at 9:45, Oct. 3. Police and other first responders will be at the school to conduct the drill.

According to documentation on the school’s website, the school has recently updated its emergency management plan to the standard response protocol. Because of this update, the school has decided to conduct a drill to practice the standard response protocol with law enforcement personnel and first responders.

Carbon County Sheriff’s Department, Encampment Volunteer Fire Department and the Encampment Police Department will all be participating in the drill along with the school.

Prior to the drill, faculty and staff will do training and practice with students. During the drill, the school will be on lockdown. Under a lockdown, students will be secured in individual classrooms and there will be no access to the school allowed.
