Serving the Platte Valley since 1888

Glenn W. Leavengood

Glenn Leavengood fought a seven-year battle with cancer that ended on Oct. 19, 2015.

Glenn was born in Kansas, but got to Wyoming as quick as he could as the adopted child of Slim and Bird (Stockwell) Leavengood.

Glenn attended Saratoga schools K-12, and worked on several local ranches from age 14 until he was employed by Saratoga-Encampment-Rawlins Conservation District in the 90s. Glenn worked for the SERCD until the day of his death. His most passionate work at SERCD was the living snow fence, and restoration projects of the Encampment and the North Platte rivers. But if asked, Glenn would most like to be remembered as a "good hand".

Glenn enjoyed cowboying, hunting, reading and cooking. He will be remembered for his quick-witted, western-style humor.

During his battle with cancer, he was supported and cared for by Pam Meyer, Anndee (Chad) McKinney and children; KayCee (Bo) Alameda and children.

Glenn is preceded in death by his father, mother and sister, Valerie. He is survived by his niece, Kaytee Thomas, and many friends.

Private family services were held.

Donations can be made to conservation efforts or cancer research in memory of Glenn.
