Sonja L. Hamblin passed away Aug. 23, 2016 in Elko, Nev. She was born March 28, 1938 in Laramie. She was raised in Laramie and attended Beauty School there. She married Ross Hamblin in 1968 and moved to Saratoga shortly after. After spending almost 20 years in Saratoga, the mining industry brought Sonja and Ross to Elko, Nev. She would eventually retire as a hairdresser there after working for many years. She will be fondly remembered for her determination and being such a compassionate and loving mother, wife, grandma and friend. She loved to help those who needed it.
She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Ross Hamblin; Daughter, Kathy Alexander (Jim); Son, Tony Daniels (Sheri); Grandchildren: Alicia (Matt ), Jamie (Eric), Amber (David), Trevor (Chantel), Mariah (Josh), Cassidy; and 9 great-grandchildren.
She is proceeded in death by her mother, Patricia Martin; Father, Earl Anderson; and granddaughter, Chelsea Daniels.
A Graveside Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 27 at the Elko City Cemetery.
