Local business neighbors Strong Tower Design and Sweet Marie's Bakeshop celebrated their third anniversary in business Saturday with a street festival for their loyal customers.
Between 4 and 8 p.m., music from Teense Wilford and Home Grown floated down Bridge Street. Children danced under a tent set up for the occasion and delicious food aromas drew passers by to the festivities. In addition to pizza and an array of appetizers, there was a free-to-enter raffle held every thirty minutes, replete with juicy prizes for lucky attendees.
"It was both of our three-year anniversaries, so we decided to combine forces (with Ray and Jamie Bernal of Strong Tower) to celebrate," said Marie Christen of Sweet Marie's. The party marked an important milestone for the fledgling entrepreneurs. They hope three years from now they'll be celebrating the six year mark in as much style.
