Serving the Platte Valley since 1888

Murphey returns to Valley

Battle Pass Scenic Byway Alliance will host Michael Martin Murphey from 4:30-6:30 p.m., June 12 at the Platte Valley Community Center. Murphey will also do a Saturday night show on the second Saturday in June during future years, a press release said.

When Murphey performed last year in the Valley, the show received rave reviews, the release said. The country artist performs all across America each year, and his annual Cowboy Christmas Tour is a long running, successful musical tribute to the holidays.

Murphey lives outside of Gould, Colo. on a ranch. When he is not traveling, Murphey spends time as a historian with a passion about the west and WYDOT 70, the Battle Pass Scenic Byway.

Tickets are $35 and may be purchased at the Platte Valley Community Center with the front two rows of the theater reserved at $100 a ticket. Call John Farr at 307-710-3277 or Virginia Parker at 307-321-3933 with questions.
