Serving the Platte Valley since 1888

Historic downtown walking tour Saturday

Saratoga’s past and present will be revealed during a “Historic Downtown Walking Tour” Saturday, June 11, beginning at 10 a.m. at the Platte Valley Community Center parking lot and concluding with lunch at the Wolf Hotel.

The event is open to the public, and persons interested in participating are asked to register by 9:30 Saturday morning at the Saratoga Museum, 104 Constitution Ave., across from the airport, or call (307) 326-5511.

Cost for the trek, lunch and a printed brochure is $20 per person for members of the Saratoga Historical & Cultural Assn. (SH&CA) or $25 for non-members.

The tour is part of the Saratoga Museum’s series on “This is YOUR History” and is sponsored by the SH&CA in conjunction with the Saratoga/Platte Valley Chamber of Commerce. Tour guides will include local historian Dick Perue presenting the past and S/PVCC executive director Stacy Crimmins relating the present, along with volunteers from both organizations.

More than a dozen historic downtown structures will be visited on Saturday’s museum trek.
