Serving the Platte Valley since 1888
DeNiele "Dennie" Rae Kubit, 60, passed away April 14, at home with family and loved ones by her side.
Dennie was born Dec. 12, 1955, in Sand Point, Idaho, to John and Christeena Marich. She grew up in Thompson Falls, Mont., and graduated from Thompson Falls High School in 1973. Dennie then worked as a nurse at a local hospital where she met her first husband, Greg Dunster. Greg was unexpectedly taken in a car accident, one year after their marriage. Dennie then moved to Michigan and met her second husband Gary Kubit and moved to Virginia Beach, Va. Dennie lived in Virginia for over twenty years, where she raised two boys. She was always very active in her community and local school system. Dennie held such titles as PTA and Garden Club President. Gary and Dennie divorced in 2006. Dennie's last six years have been spent in Saratoga, near her sister and brothers, living with her partner Mark Pesognelli.
Dennie loved the outdoors, where she enjoyed gardening, hunting and rafting with friends. She was also an avid poker and pinochle player, where she seldom lost, or at least never admitted to doing so. Dennie had a smile that would light up a room and a most contagious laugh. Dennie was the rock of her family and will be sorely missed.
Dennie is survived by son Isaac Kubit, son Jacob Kubit and his wife Caitlin. Her sister Geri Lee and her husband Mike Dooley, brothers John and Kenneth Marich, and life partner Mark Pesognelli.
She was preceded in death by her first husband Greg Dunster, mother Christeena Marich and father John Marich.
Dennie will be laid to rest in her home town of Thompson Falls, Mont.
