Kiwanis gives 'Stars' chance to shine

The Platte Valley Kiwanis will be hosting their ninth annual “Stars of Tomorrow” talent show at 2 p.m. April 10 at the Platte Valley Christian Center in Saratoga.

This event provides an opportunity for amateur K-12 performers from the area to showcase their performing arts abilities.

The show is open to public, private and home-schooled K-12 students from Saratoga, Encampment, Hanna, Elk Mountain and Medicine Bow.

High school winners from the competition will be eligible to participate in the Kiwanis Division 13 Stars of Tomorrow contest held in Wheatland on April 16. Top performers can then contend for scholarships and prizes at the Rocky Mountain District Kiwanis Stars of Tomorrow event in Loveland, Colo. on April 24.

Past performers from the Platte Valley have gone on to win scholarships at regional Stars of Tomorrow events and now perform across the country and even around the world.

Expected acts include vocal and instrumental music, dancing, dramatic presentations and other performance pieces.

Participants must register by April 4 by going online to plattevalleykiwanis.portalbuzz.com or by calling Dave Gloss at 307-329-8412.
