Ben Cline, longtime Platte Valley resident, passed away unexpectedly March 16, 2016 at the age of 62. Ben was born in Salt Lake City, Utah on Feb. 10, 1954 to Harold and Marlene Cline. Ben graduated high school in Pinedale, Wyo. and then proceeded on to Denver Automotive and Diesel in Denver, Colo. to pursue what he loved; mechanics. He met his wife, Pam, in August and they married in April of 1976. They lived in Rawlins for a brief time where Ben worked for Halliburton and Pam worked at the Rawlins Hospital. Soon, they traveled to a ranch south of Encampment for a job interview, which would set their course for the 40 years to come. Ben and Pam settled into a career at Big Creek Ranch, where they raised their two children, Stephanie and Joel.
Dedicated and hardworking, Ben was involved in every aspect of the ranch life. Able to fix almost anything, Ben was always willing to help a neighbor or lend a hand to anyone in need, always putting others before himself. Ben’s dedication to family and work were always his top priorities.
Ben loved spending time with his family and was an amazing husband, father, and grandfather. He was survived by his wife Pam, children Joel and Stephanie (Alex), grandchildren Colton and Taylor, brother Jess (Dana), sister Paula (Tom), Aunt Lorraine Sestanovich and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Encampment Museum. Services will be held March 24 at 2 p.m. at the Saratoga Community Center in Saratoga, Wyoming.
