Serving the Platte Valley since 1888
From 6-8 p.m. on Friday, the Saratoga Museum will be hosting ‘A Toast to History: a wine tasting event and museum fundraiser’ in the West Hall at the Platte Valley Community Center.
According to Erik Gantt, Interim Director for the Saratoga Museum, there will be appetizers and wine pairings provided by seven local establishments. The participants include The Hotel Wolf, Duke’s Bar and Grill, Sweet Marie’s, Lollypops, The Saratoga Resort and Spa, Platte River Pizza and Valley Foods.
These establishments will be judged based off their pairings and the winner will receive naming-rights and some advertisement.
In addition, throughout the evening, there will be a raffle for a number of items, such as a leather Denver Broncos Jacket, gift baskets and a number of bottles of wine.
Gantt is grateful for the community support with the large number of local restaurants participating in the event. “The local restaurants really seem to understand the importance of things that make the community vibrant,” said Gantt.
Cost for the evening is $20 per person and $30 per couple. If you are a member at the Saratoga Museum, there is a $5 discount for both rates.
“I can’t think of too many other things where you can go drink for a couple hours for 15, 20 bucks per person,” said Gantt.
