Carbon County School District No. 2 students do well at science fair in Rock Springs
Students throughout Carbon County School District No. 2 competed in the Southwest Regional Science Fair on February 23. The fair was hosted by Western Wyoming Community College.
Saratoga Middle/High School students brought home two first-place wins in the Junior Division, along with one second-place and one third-place finish. Two students from Hanna-Elk Mountain-Medicine Bow Jr./Sr. High School (HEM) won second and third place. One Encampment student won first place.
Saratoga winners include: Kaylyn Hunter, 1st place, “The Effect of Learning Process on Memory;” Taylor Bennet, 1st place, “The Effects of Acne Medicine on E.Coli;” Campbell Grabow, 2nd place, “Effect of Conductor Lengths on the Intensity of a Lightbulb;” Tasia Daley, 3rd place, “Comparing the Quality of Different Water sources.”
Hanna winners include: Taylee Widdision, 2nd place, for “Water You’re Using;” Madison Campbell, 3rd place, “In Tune with Tomatoes.”
Encampment K-12 winners were: Kelton Koehn, 1st place, “Up in Flames.”
Participating schools in this year’s Southwest Regional Science Fair were Big Piney Middle School, HEM Jr./Sr., Little Snake River Valley Middle/High School, Pinedale Middle School, Saratoga Middle/High School, Lincoln Middle School, Encampment K-12, Black Butte High School and Eastside Elementary.
