C. J. Box at museum fundraiser

Commissioners name March 1, 2016 as C. J. Box Day

The Carbon County Museum Foundation is hosting an evening with bestselling Wyoming author C. J. Box from 5 to 8 p.m. on March 1 at the Rawlins Depot located at 400 West Front Street in Rawlins. Box and the museum foundation are partnering to raise funds for the renovation of the Hugus-Ferguson Building, future home of Carbon County Museum.

In conjunction with this event, the Carbon County Board of County Commissioners is honoring the novelist by officially designating the day C. J. Box Day.

The evening includes a book signing and book sale. Complimentary champagne and hors d’oeuvres will be served. This event is free and open to the public.

Box will soon begin touring the country promoting Off the Grid which is set for release March 8. Autographed copies of the sixteenth installment of the best-selling Joe Pickett series, Off the Grid will be available for pre-sale at the signing.

Carbon County Museum will serve as the only outlet worldwide for autographed collectors’ box sets of the complete C. J. Box collection.

C. J. Box is the New York Times bestselling author of twenty novels including the Joe Pickett series. He won the Edgar Alan Poe Award for Best Novel (Blue Heaven, 2009) as well as other national and international awards.

Box’s novels have been translated into 27 languages. Open Season, Blue Heaven, Nowhere To Run, and The Highway have been optioned for film and television. Over ten million copies of his novels have been sold in the U.S. alone.
