The facility’s Activity program provided fun and laughter throughout the week. On Sunday afternoon, five residents played Dominoes with Pat Rust winning. On Tuesday morning, four residents played Yahtzee with Pat Rust winning. On Wednesday afternoon, nine residents played Bingo and on Friday afternoon nine residents played Bingo. Koreen Spoon, Carol Higby, and Barbara Plummer won Four Corners. Pat Rust and Koreen Spoon won Blackout. Volunteers at Bingo were Lila Worden, Gloria Rakness and Dawna Erickson.

On Thursday morning, three residents played Uno with Jake Mickelson, our Social Services Director, with Truth Karstoft winning. On Saturday afternoon, residents played Blackjack.

For exercise, residents did Wii Bowling on Sunday and Saturday mornings and Sittercise on Monday and Friday mornings.

Residents enjoyed the commercial-free Turner Classic Movies channel in the evening.

On Sunday afternoon, Pastor Steve Niccolls of the Saratoga Presbyterian Church led church. Doris Davis played traditional religious music on the keyboard.

On Sunday afternoon before supper, many residents watched the Denver Broncos beat the Carolina Panthers in Super Bowl 50. Residents had popcorn at halftime.

On Monday afternoon, residents attended a Resident/Food Council meeting, discussing concerns about living at the facility. Jake Mickelsen, our Social Services Director, and Bethany Manley, our Dietary Manager answered concerns.

Wednesday six residents had their hair done, and 12 residents had their fingernails done by Georgia Schroer and Janice Kerpan. Shayna Smith, our beautician, did two residents’ hair.

On Thursday afternoon, residents had a Valentine’s Day Party and crowned our Valentine King, John Collamer, and our Queen Valentine Queen, Koreen Spoon. They each received candy and a stuffed dog. Residents ate Valentine cookies prepared by Kathy McMorrow, the Activity Assistant.

On Friday, three residents had roast turkey for Lunch Out at the Saratoga Senior Center.

On Saturday afternoon, residents enjoyed the Ice Cream Social.
