Alberta Welton

Memorial services for Alberta Welton were held Feb. 5, 2016 at Platte Valley Christian Center in Saratoga, Wyo., with Pastor Gene Smith officiating.

Alberta (Marvin) Welton 87 passed away on Saturday, Jan. 30, 2016 at Pioneer Manor in Gillette, Wyo.

Alberta was born July 2, 1928 in Rawlins, Wyo. to Ernie and Irene Marvin.

After graduating from Rawlins High School, she worked as a telephone operator. Alberta married Ernest Welton in June of 1947.

They had three children. They raised their family on the Ravenscroft Ranch on Pass Creek. They moved into Saratoga in 1971. Alberta worked for the Saratoga Sun for a while. She opened and operated a pet shop in Saratoga and then was a pet groomer for 27 years.

Alberta was very active in the church and enjoyed spending time with her granddaughter, Heather. Alberta is survived by one son; Ernest M. Welton, of Lincoln, Neb., daughter and son-in-law; Charlotte and Ernie Sandy, of Gillette, granddaughters; Heather Anglin, of Greeley, Colo. and Kathleen Lilly, of Eugene, Ore., five great-grandchildren, two sisters; Mr. and Mrs. Warren (Betty) Fuller, of Lander, Wyo. and Doris Scott of Thermopolis, Wyo., also numerous nieces and nephews.
