After coming off a homecoming sweep, the Lady Tigers are going to have a challenging week as they play Little Snake River (LSRV) and Rock River.
While both Encampment and LSRV have only suffered one loss each, to Cokeville, Rock River beat Cokeville earlier in the season.
The Encampment Lady Tigers (1-1 conference, 11-12 overall) are going to have to work hard this weekend as they try to hold their No. 2 spot in conference against Little Snake River (1-1, 10-4).
Saturday will be the first time the teams meet this season and the Tigers will have the home-court advantage.
The confidence-building sweep should help the Tigers fend off the LSRV Rattlers.
"We take nothing for granted and have a tough schedule ahead," head coach Amy Clay said. "We will keep working hard this week."
Thursday, the Lady Tigers out-matched the North Park Wildcats with a 55-36 win. Cassidy Little led the scoring with 13 points. She also had seven rebounds and 5 assists. Paige Powell followed with 12 points, nine rebounds, two blocks and two assists.
Alyssa Barkhurst scored 9 points and nine rebounds, with three steals.
McKenzie Powell stepped it up against North Park and brought in 8 points for the team, while grabbing six rebounds.
Noelle Peterson had 7 points and seven rebounds and Konnar Knotwell had 4 points and eight rebounds. Micaiah Pantle scored 2 points for the Tigers, nabbed three steals and had two assists.
"Everyone played very unselfish," Clay said. "It is exciting to have everyone contribute to the wins."
The Lady Tigers success against Hanna-Elk Mountain-Medicine Bow (HEM) was a team effort as well. Barkhurst led scoring with 16 points in the 53-25 win. She also had nine rebounds, five assists and four steals.
Noelle Peterson sank 9 points and grabbed six rebounds. P. Powell and Pantle each added 8 points to the score board with P. Powell also giving four assists and making three steals.
Little had 6 points, seven rebounds and three steals.
Knotwell evened out her rebounds and points with four of each, while M. Powell added 2 points and three assists.
In the win against the Saratoga Lady Panthers, the Lady Tigers showed no slowing down after already playing two games over the homecoming weekend.
Encampment never gave Saratoga a chance to catch up after the first quarter of the game.
The Lady Panthers held the lead for about a second, before the Lady Tigers took over and scored four unanswered buckets to take the lead 12-5 in the first quarter.
The Lady Panthers tried to keep pace with the Lady Tigers coming out of the half, but the Panthers only got three buckets compared to the Tigers six. The third quarter ended 33-19.
By the fourth quarter the Lady Panthers were in the game, but it was too late. The Panthers managed 13 points, but the Tigers scored 18 to keep the lead and win the game 53-34.
Barkhurst led in scoring with 15 points. She also had seven rebounds and three steals. P. Powell had 9 points, 8 rebounds and three assists. Pantle had 8 points and two assists. Little had 8 points and five assists. Peterson scored 6 points and nine rebounds. M. Powell had 4 points and two asssists. Knotwell had three points.
The Lady Tigers travel to Rock River Friday night, with junior varsity beginning at 4 p.m. Cokeville.
Saturday, junior varsity begins at 1 p.m. at the Encampment gym, with a conference game against Little Snake River.
