Carbon County stitches together district wins

The district Make It With Wool Contest was held Nov. 15 at the Jeffrey Center in Rawlins. Several Platte Valley residents placed in the competition.

Contestants modeled outfits they made from at least 60 percent of wool fabric or yarn. Garments were also judged on construction.

Tomi Sue Wille, district director for the Make It With Wool announced the winners of the district competition.

In the pre-teen division, Peyton Munroe, of Encampment, earned a first place with aqua dress and black jacket.

Hanna Lee, of Encampment, earned second place with a brown and green plaid vest and skirt.

In third and fourth place were Seamus Lally and Siobhan Lally, both of Savery. Seamus modeled a black tweed vest and pants while Siobhan modeled a purple plaid jacket and purple skirt.

Samantha Fiedor, of Saratoga, earned fifth place with her gray and pink vest and skirt.

In the junior division, Ashlynn Johnson, of Encampment, won first place with her gray coat and gray and magenta vest while her sister took second place. Makiya Johnson modeled a rose jacket and wine plaid dress.

Kacy Kappeler, of Rawlins won third and fourth place with two items. Third place was a teal and pink plaid vest and skirts and fourth place was a teal coat.

In the adult division, Estella Munroe, of Encampment, won first place for her gray plaid coat and black dress.

Kim Preletz, of Encampment, won second place for her greed and red plaid cape.

Patty Davis, of Baggs, earned third place with her tan jacket and tan plaid skirt.

Coming in fourth place was Sheryl Hunter, of Saratoga, with her blue plaid skirt and beige knitted top.

Ashlynn Johnson and Estella Munroe represented Carbon County at the Wyoming Make It With Wool competition in Casper Nov. 29-30.
