Health Insurance Marketplace workshop in Rawlins

The 2016 open enrollment period for the Health Insurance Marketplace (HIM) began on Nov. 1 and will end on Jan. 31, 2016. To help Wyomingites navigate the sometimes complicated system, George O’Hare with Cheyenne Regional Medical Center and Enroll Wyoming will host a workshop at Memorial Hospital of Carbon County on Wednesday.

According to Enroll Wyoming, the workshop is designed to help consumers understand how the Health Insurance Marketplace works, review coverage options and assist enrolling in the plan the consumer chooses.

Enroll Wyoming states, “The Health Insurance marketplace offers a wide variety of Wyoming-based health plans with good benefits. All plans cover doctor visits, prescriptions, hospital stays and more.” The open enrollment period also offers current subscribers through the HIM to review their options and change plans if necessary. Enroll Wyoming said, “It is important for people to re-enroll since more plans are being offered this time and insurance companies may make changes to premiums, cost-sharing and benefits.”

Items to bring for the workshop are:

• Birth dates, social security number(s) or document numbers for legal immigrants

• Pay stubs, W-2 forms, or wage and tax statements

• Policy number for any current health insurance

• Information about any health insurance you or your family could get from your jobs

• Personal email address (or be prepared to create an email address during your appointment)

The workshop will be located in the IT Lab in the Administration Wing on Memorial Hospital from 10:30 a.m. to 7 p.m., Dec. 9. For more information on the workshop call George O’Hare at 307-432-3640 or email him at [email protected].
