Serving the Platte Valley since 1888
The American Legion Auxiliary met at 6:30 p.m., Oct. 20, 2015 at the American Legion Post home. Seven members were present.
Plans were made to present a flag etiquette program in the area schools for grades K-3 sometime during the month of November. Carrie Craig will be contacting the schools to find out dates and times that are convenient and she would appreciate volunteers to help with the project.
Further plans were made for the official visit of the Department President, Becky Allred on Nov. 7 at noon. We will have a lunch and meeting during her visit. All members are encouraged to attend so we have a good turnout for Becky’s visit. The meeting will be at Bill’s Chateau located at 312 E. Bridge Ave across from the American Legion Post.
It was reported that Friday night food raffles are doing quite well. There will be three raffles during the month of November. Thank you to all who have purchased tickets during the raffles. The proceeds with go to the Christmas year-round project for veterans.
A big thank you to all members that baked cookies for the VA Hospital in Cheyenne.
The Veterans Day dinner will be Nov. 7 and the Thanksgiving dinner will be Nov. 21. Contact Deb Clark at the Legion Post at 326-9600 to find out the times of these dinners and if Deb needs help with these events.
