Saratoga Cross County Head Coach Rex Hohnholt had words of encouragement for his harriers Friday after they ran to qualify for state.
They could spend a long day on the bus and compete in one last race before state or the team could try for their best times in Saratoga.
Hohnholt chose to keep them in Saratoga.
Friday, they travel to Sheridan before getting a night's rest and competing in the state championship.
The team ran two miles, with Jeremy Detterer taking the lead at 13 minutes 48 seconds. The top five runners were within 23 seconds of each other.
Gage Bartlett game in second with a time of 13:58, Darian Williams was third at 14:07 with Spencer Knotwell one second behind Williams. Aaron Kerbs came in fifth with 14:11.
Ashlynn Johnson led the girls with a time of 16:07, with Katie Loose coming in second at 16:41.
