Fall carnival planned

The facility’s Activity program provides fun and laughter throughout the week. Three residents played Dominoes with Pat Rust winning. On Tuesday morning, Three residents played Yahtzee. On Wednesday afternoon and Friday afternoons, residents played Bingo. Kenny Hoagland, Pat Rust, Koreen Spoon and Elaine Burge won Four Corners. Carol Higby won Blackouts both days. Our volunteers were Lila Worden, Gloria Rakness, Dawna Erickson, Elder Sanders, Elder Springer and Elder Coleman. On Saturday afternoon, residents played Blackjack.

Movies provided entertainment for residents throughout the week and the weekend. In the evening, residents may watch the commercial-free movie channel. On Tuesday afternoon, residents watched the movie “Little Women”and had popcorn.

For exercise residents did Wii Bowling on Sunday, Sittercise on Monday, Sittercise on Thursday, Sittercise on Friday and Wii Bowling on Saturday.

For Lunch Out at the Saratoga Senior Center, two residents had chicken enchiladas on Monday, and three residents had roast beef and birthday cake on Friday. We celebrated the birthday of Dick Wiant among others.

On Sunday, Pastor Gene Smith of the Platte Valley Christian Center led our church service. Doris Davis played traditional religious music on her keyboard.

On Wednesday morning, five residents had their hair done, and 15 residents had their fingernails done by Georgia Schroer, Merlynn Hoopes and Janice Kerpan.

On Thursday afternoon, the Mary Martha League hosted our monthly birthday party with ice cream and cake. We celebrated the birthdays of Barbara Plummer, Marjery McAulay, and Dick Wiant.

On Saturday afternoon, residents enjoyed the Ice Cream Social.

We wish to thank Teense Willford for the very kind donation of quarters for Bingo.

We will be having our annual Fall Carnival on Oct. 30, from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. There will be games galore and a spook house with prizes and candy for the kids of the valley. Money raised from this event goes towards residents’ Christmas presents.
