Betty Margene Rouse, lovingly called "Amo", 91, died on Friday, Sept. 4, 2015 in Phoenix, Ariz. She was born Feb. 2, 1924 in Red Cloud, Neb. to Frank and Alvena Burg.
In 1940 she married Arthur Eugene Rouse, aka "Boppy" and established themselves in Fort Collins, Colo.
They then purchased Elk Hollow Ranch where they spent many memorable years voyaging between the two homes. Elk Hollow Ranch quickly became a family treasure where extended family would spend countless days basking in the uniqueness of the property.
They built a home in Phoenix, Ariz. and became "snowbirds" spending winters in Arizona and summers at Elk Hollow Ranch.
Amo and Boppy celebrated 68 blessed years of marriage raising two daughters, Betty Jean Sid and Sandy Cameron.
Amo was esteemed by many as a woman of wisdom, grace, and compassion.
Amo was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend to all. She is survived by her daughter, Sandy and her grandchildren Deone Jennings, Kelly Brodeur, Devin Schledwitz, Kristy Aguirre and her great grandchildren Brittany and Christian Brown, Alex and Cassie Aguirre and Jackson Jennings.
She is also survived by her sister, Arlyne Miller, of Pheonix, Ariz., and her brother Bill (JeAnne) Burg, of Jacksonville, Fla.
Funeral services will be privately held. Memorial donations may be made in Betty's name to Visiting Angels, 3420 E. Shea Blvd, Ste. 200, Phoenix, Ariz. 85028.
