Serving the Platte Valley since 1888
Sagebrush Senior Center
It is the middle of October already! Sure hope everyone is getting ready for the winter months coming ahead as time is flying by. We had 56 people take advantage of the flu shot clinic. If you happened to miss it, don’t forget to get one from your medical provider.
This past week the chatter ladies for coffee had fun figuring out who was who in last week’s paper. Those ladies include, Laura Rettelle, Connie Beckham, Patty Herring, Ellie Behrman, Karen Dibbern, Linda York, Arleigh Simmons, Jo Bonnett, Nancy Lynch, Rosalie Cousins and Mary Priquet.
The ever dedicated domino players have included Joe and Shelia Remick, Lorraine Knotwell, Dick Blake, Phil Fleming, Bill and Madeline Telfer, John and Sharon Pratt, Lila Payton and Laura Rettelle. With Shelia, Joe, Madeline and Sharon taking the wins. Looks like they remembered to circle the winners this week.
I remembered to ask whose quilt the stitching ladies are working on, Nancy Lynch, Karen Casson, Lila Walbye, Jo Roberson, Phyllis Smith, Vonda Wieburg, Rosalie Cousins, Sandy Miller and Joan Dowdy are working on a Sandy Miller quilt.
We had one table of Bridge after our Saturday Breakfast for lunch that included Vivien Campbell, Rosemary Craighead, Sheila Johnson and Paula Harris. I was glad to see them as we didn’t have anyone playing on Wednesday.
A Days to Remember puzzle has been being put together by Joe Remick, Jo Roberson, Madeline and Bill Telfer and Joan Dowdy. It is just about finished—can’t wait to see what they put together next.
We served 41 people Saturday for our Breakfast for Lunch. I was very pleased to have that kind of turn out for breakfast burritos.
This coming Friday is our Evening Birthday/Anniversary Meal. We will be serving roast beef, mashed potatoes and gravy. Our Entertainment will be our very own Phil Fleming introducing his friend Steve Herbst from Frazier, Colo. Sure sounds like it will be a very good time. Please be sure to call by noon on Friday to get your bean in the pot for dinner that evening.
